I AM Radio is a Christian non-profit non-denominational commercial-free radio station located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. We believe that music is a social medium that reaches out to believers and non-believers alike. We want to give people an alternative to the other pop-rock and contemporary media out there which promotes hopelessness, despair, anger, and lust. Instead we want to provide a message of hope and encouragement. There are many talented and committed Christian artists creating Christian Music and we hope to promote them and their message about Jesus Christ as a part of our ministry to the world..
We play a wide variety of Christian Contemporary Music including shades of Country, Gospel, Worship, R & B, Hip Hop, Pop, Soft Rock from Top Christian artists and new up and coming independent artists. We welcome new music that would be a blessing to our listeners. This is a ministry to us. If you hear a song with a message/lyrics that you do not like we would like to know about it. Our feelings are powerful, and being honest is important. But sometimes you just can't trust your feelings. I know that if I had, I wouldn't have made it this far.
This song is about asking the question, “Who am I? That you would think of me among a million stars.” But also embracing the truth that in spite of God being the creator of the universe, He sees me as if I was the only person that ever existed and loves me without condition. I’ve never been forgotten or unwanted and I have confidence that I am truly loved by God. We are accepted for who we are and where we’re at by the creator of the universe and even though we don’t deserve it He chooses to love us anyway.
I’m excited to share this song, Life can be so rough and we can be so quick to lean on the wrong things for support. We forget that through all of it, God is there. What’s even better is that He never changes. He’s always God, even when everything around us is falling apart. He’s not falling apart with us, and we forget that. So it makes sense to build my life on Him so that I always have solid ground to stand on, even when the conditions aren’t exactly stable.
Birthed out of a powerful and spontaneous time of worship, “Grave Clothes” is a declaration and powerful anthem, calling us to take off what is dead and put on the fullness of life, in Christ. Stephen McWhirter’s own testimony is one of being radically restored from meth addict to worship leader, after encountering the One who called him from the tomb, removing his Grave Clothes, and putting on resurrection.
When I wrote 'Heal Me' my goal was to show people who don’t think they’re worthy of God that they are actually more worthy than they believe. I wrote the song in a place where I felt like I didn’t deserve to be loved by God and I want others who feel that way to see that’s not true.
After years of pushing down my pain and grief, and leaving my trauma unprocessed, I realized I suffered with PTSD. The condition brought on trauma triggers and severe emotional flashbacks. My decision to work hard every day as part of the healing process was treacherous, but it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I wrote this song about walking through that process. Writing and singing this song has meant a lot to me in my own healing, and I truly hope that it helps to soothe and encourage others to open their hearts to live, love and believe again.
’Miracles’ is a song that has meaning and depth, but it just feels fun musically. Some things are more than coincidence. I believe there is a God who loves you and is looking out for you. I’m pointing out to others that there’s more to life than meets the eye. I believe miracles happen all around us. I’d like to encourage all of us to slow down a bit, so we can see and appreciate the miracles for what they are.
My lyrics come out of an overflow of what God has done for me, what His word says – my own experience and encounters in life and with God. His creation influences me; His love and His word. I admire God as a creator and restorer in “All Things New”.
I hope the album serves as an encouragement to the listener. Ultimately, it is about others, bringing the Kingdom to earth with what I have been entrusted to steward. The redemption and the hope and the love and the grace and the mercy of our creator God is for them, too – for everyone. Our God is a God of redemption, and he can and will take every experience in life and use it for our good and His glory.
One morning, I woke up and began thinking about the concept of salvation...the fact as human beings, we’re so imperfect, yet God has loved us, paid the price for us in the person of Jesus Christ, and made it possible for us to look forward to heaven. We can look forward to seeing Jesus...seeing God someday in a literal sense. What an astounding thought!
So I began imagining what it would be like to behold the Almighty on the throne as the Bible tries to describe... and all I could think was “You are amazing.” In my mind, I pictured the masses told of in the book of Revelation bowing down before God, the joy, the peace, the perfection that is His presence, devoid of all pain and sorrow... and the recurring phrase in my mind was “God, You are amazing” No matter what we can conceptualize in our minds about God, someday when we actually see Him, it’ll be more amazing! The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2:9 that eyes have not seen, nor ears heard what God has in store for those that love Him!
When I was singing this song in the studio I was thinking not only of things in my life , but many friends who were and are going through difficult circumstances. There are times in life where we need to release our grip and let go of things into the hands of God. In Psalms 46:10 it says “Be still, and know that I am God" But when I began to read more about The command to "be still" it actaully comes from the Hiphil (Hebrew) stem of the verb (רפה) rapha (meaning to be weak, to let go, to release), which might better be translated as, "cause yourselves to let go" In a world that seems so chaotic moving into a new decade and New Year, we are all looking for glimpses of hope and peace. There’s many things we can’t control but what we can control is our response. For me I choose to let go of the things I can’t Control into the hands of God. I am praying this song will bring a sense of peace to anyone who will listen.
My prayer for every listener is that they are able to experience the same unfailing love of Jesus that I’ve experienced again and again.
So often we can get caught up in focusing on the negative parts of life. After a while that negativity builds into this heaviness that we carry around with us daily. This isn't the way that God intended for us to live at all. He died for us so that we wouldn't have to carry that weight. This song has become my anthem ever since we wrote it, constantly reminding me that his yoke is easy and his burden is light. If we live in truth we can live every day feeling weightless.
We are so excited for the release of Jesus My Treasure! Nothing compares to the gift we have been given in Jesus. As we head into a new year, we pray that this song would call all of us to pursue Christ first and most. This is one of those tracks that just hits you in a special way. We knew this was a special one from the moment we started writing it. We hope it touches you in the same way.
